Basic situation of sodium bicarbonate industry chain
(1) Overview of the production chain of sodium bicarbonate industry;
The upstream of trona production is trona ore, the upstream of ammonia production is raw salt and limestone, and the upstream of alkali production is raw salt and synthetic ammonia. The fuel is mainly thermal coal, and some companies use natural gas.
The main products of the sodium bicarbonate ash industry are light alkali and heavy alkali, and heavy alkali is converted from light alkali processing. It is a quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer and can also be used for battery manufacturing, electroplating, and dyeing.
Light alkali is mainly used in daily daily chemical industry, detergent and food industry. Heavy alkali is mainly used to manufacture flat glass. Inorganic salts use light alkali and heavy alkali according to different industries. Some downstream enterprises in the detergent and alumina industries can change the kiln feed at the prices of sodium bicarbonate ash and caustic sodium bicarbonate, thereby reducing production costs.
(2) Overview of upstream industries of sodium bicarbonate ash:
Due to different production processes, the raw materials used to produce sodium bicarbonate ash are also different. The main raw materials produced by the ammonia-alkali method are raw salt and limestone, the main raw materials of the combined-alkali method production process are raw salt and synthetic ammonia, and the main raw materials of the trona method are trona ore. The main fuel of the three alkaline processes is thermal coal. Therefore, upstream of sodium bicarbonate ash is raw salt, limestone, synthetic ammonia and thermal coal.
1. Raw salt industry
Raw salt, also known as industrial salt, is the source of the salt and chemical industry. It is the main raw material for production of hydrochloric acid, caustic sodium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate ash, chlorine gas, and ammonium chloride. According to the saltfield production mode, China's salt industry is divided into well salt, sea salt and lake salt. In 2018, we produced 90.65 million tons, 58.5% of well salt, 29.5% of sea salt and 12.0% of lake salt. The consumption of raw salt in the sodium bicarbonate ash and caustic sodium bicarbonate industries accounts for more than 90% of the total output.
