Currently, the most common production methods for baking soda include natural alkali, synthetic (soda ash), and double decomposition (carbon ammonia) processes.
Hengyang Aijie adopts the double decomposition method using sodium chloride and ammonium bicarbonate to prepare baking soda. Ammonia is absorbed by the sodium chloride aqueous solution to produce ammonium salt water, which is then carbonated to generate sodium bicarbonate precipitate. The production process is as follows: raw salt undergoes pre-treatment through a calcium removal tower, ammonia gas is produced using an ammonia distillation tower to make ammonium salt water; then carbon dioxide gas produced from a lime kiln is introduced into the carbonation tower to react with the ammonium salt water to produce sodium bicarbonate.
By adopting the double decomposition method, the prepared baking soda can be purer and safer than conventionally prepared baking soda. The double decomposition method can effectively remove heavy metal ions. Therefore, the prepared baking soda can be more efficient and safer.
